    Let's get ready for Chinese New Year! Writing spring couplets is the most common and important tradition when celebrating Chinese New Year. During this session, we will show you and your child how to use ink and calligraphy brushes to create unique spring couplets for your home. This is a child and caregiver class open to children 2 years old and up.

    Polis Montessori World School is excited to partner with Bright Healthy Smiles, a pediatric dental and orthodontic services on the Upper East Side, to host a joint parent education session on the relationship between healthy food and healthy teeth. Their registered dietitian/ nutritionist, Jillian Kaye MS, RDN, will be presenting tips and tricks on how to encourage your child to eat healthier through a variety of presentations. These include suggestions on what to pack for your child’s school lunch, snack ideas that are both good for your body and teeth, ways to get your child more involved in the cooking process, and ways to get them to eat more fruits and vegetables with a fun and delicious smoothie recipe demonstration. Becky Simkhai, our Head of School at Polis, will offer recommendations on child-sized cookware you can purchase for your home and the steps you take when engaging your child in preparing snacks and lunch for himself. Experienced pediatric dentists Dr. Emanuela Corielli and Dr. Ross Wengrover will also be onsite to answer your questions regarding oral hygiene, the correlation between dental health and general health, etc. Space is limited.
